Supported Birth Childbirth classes educate women and their partners to make conscious choices about the birth of their baby based on a combination of technical knowledge, confidence in the natural biological process of birth and different pain coping tools and techniques. Women and their partners will understand the importance of a woman's need to feel safe and nurtured in her birthing environment.
This class covers stages of labor, pain coping techniques, drugs and cesareans but differs from other childbirth classes as it is taught in an interactive and personalized way where couples participate in discussions as opposed to only listening to lectures. Couples will use self-exploration and come out of class feeling empowered and positive about birth by learning there is no one "right way" to give birth. This class is especially good for women who have fears about giving birth.
Class length: One 4-5 hour Intensive Saturday session

Instructor:
Elizabeth Bedolla, ICCE, CLC has over 13 years of experience in maternal and child education. She is a childbirth educator, Birth Doula, lactation counselor and a former preschool teacher. As a new mother her passion grew for the world in maternal and child education and sought to work toward her certification as a birth doula and childbirth educator. She loved that so much she became a midwife assistant and a certified lactation counselor after the birth of her second son. When she is not teaching she enjoys the outdoors with her sons and plays rollerderby when not on call.
