Private Lactation Consultant Appointment at The Pump Station
Founded in 1986 by one of the nation's foremost lactation consultants, the core mission of The Pump Station & Nurtury is to support Los Angeles area Moms and families with expert, IBCLC-credentialed breastfeeding support and guidance. We've just opened our new, private lactation consultation office in Suite D on the 2nd floor above our beautiful retail store at 2727 Main St. in Santa Monica. This dedicated space offers a quiet and comfortable environment designed to help you and your baby feel at ease during your breastfeeding journey. Access is easy via stairways at the front and rear of the building. Dedicated parking is provided for you during your lactation appointment.

I had a difficult breastfeeding experience with my first child--painful latching that lingered for months despite working with multiple IBCLCs. I was exhausted, frustrated, and close to giving up, but still wanted to make breastfeeding work. That's when I found Corky Harvey at The Pump Station and Nurtury. After watching her YouTube tutorial, we were still struggling, so I made the drive from Woodland Hills to Santa Monica to see her in person. From the moment we sat down--on a small, semi-private couch in the store--I felt completely at ease. Corky offered gentle, expert guidance through several latch attempts and helped us finally achieve a comfortable latch on both sides. I left that session with not just improved technique and renewed confidence, but also supportive new gear: two soft pillows perfect for my body, a footrest designed for breastfeeding, a great breastmilk transport carrier, and a new favorite diaper cream. Corky followed up with handwritten notes and even saw me again to continue refining our approach. Ultimately, she helped me understand that due to my baby's tongue tie and torticollis, we needed an "A+ setup" to succeed--and her support made that possible. After seeing five other lactation consultants, Corky was the first to offer a different approach that worked for us. We are now happily breastfeeding thanks to her experience, compassion, and wisdom. I truly can't thank or recommend her enough.
