Our Lactation Team:

Our team of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants  (IBCLC's) offer one-on-one consultations for new mothers seeking breastfeeding support. We offer gentle, "hands-on" advice for all breastfeeding concerns including: latch-on difficulties, inadequate infant weight gain, milk-supply concerns, sore and inverted nipples, severe engorgement, nipple confusion and so much more! Our experienced team is also extremely successful when working with families with multiples, premature, NICU, adopted or special need babies, multiples and mothers at high risk for lactation problems.The majority of our consultants have over 25 years experience and are Master's prepared Registered Nurses. Hospital and home visits may be arranged.
Corky Harvey Corky Harvey, MS, RN, IBCLC is the co-founder of The Pump Station & Nurtury®, the first new parent resource center of its kind. She is a registered nurse with a Master's degree in maternal/newborn nursing from the University of Maryland. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a certified Happiest Baby on the Block educator, and was a long-time Childbirth Educator. Corky does one-on-one lactation consultations, teaches Prenatal Breastfeeding, Baby Care, and new Grandparents classes. One of her favorite things to do is facilitate the New Mothers Breastfeeding Support Groups. She was on the faculty of the UCLA Lactation Educator and Consultant programs for many years and still lectures at hospitals, conferences and parent venues. Corky has three grown children who were breastfed and she loves to claim that their intelligence is linked to this. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband Dean-especially to Germany where her two darling grandsons live. She loves to sing, and is a member of an International championship women's barbershop chorus.
Barbara Zimmermann

Barbara Zimmermann RN, BSN, IBCLC, CEIM is a pediatric registered nurse. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a Certified Educator of Infant Massage through IMUSA. She provides individual lactation consults either in the store or in the privacy of a client's home. Barbara loves facilitating the New Mothers Breastfeeding Support Groups where mothers openly share the joys and challenges of breastfeeding. She teaches Prenatal Baby Care 101, Introduction to Breastfeeding, Breastfeeding & Returning to Work, Infant Massage, and New Grandparents classes. Recently, she started a new class at our Hollywood location, Breastfeeding Beyond a Year, call for more information. Prior to working at the Pump Station and Nurtury, Barbara worked in multiple Pediatric Practices throughout the US counseling parents in lactation and well-child care. Barbara and her husband Joel have two grown children. Originally from the East Coast, they moved to California to live closer to their three energetic grandsons. She loves to travel and loves spending time with those grandkids. 

Allison Mahurin

Allison Mahurin, RN, BSN, IBCLC, BA is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant who is passionate about meeting families where they are in the breastfeeding process to offer evidence-based support. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and completed her IBCLC certification through UC San Diego. She teaches our Prenatal Baby Care 101, and Introduction to Breastfeeding classes. She firmly believes in the value of embracing all families, whatever their makeup, and thinks breastfeeding success is defined by meeting the specific needs of each family. Prior to becoming an IBCLC, Allison worked as a nurse in the OR. She has two beautiful daughters, both of whom she breastfed. She also holds a degree in English Literature which she currently puts to daily in pursuit of her other passion—reading.

Jessica Sacher Jessica Sacher, RN, MN, IBCLC has been a lactation consultant at The Pump Station in Santa Monica for the past 20 years. Her work there includes providing individual consultations for new mothers and their babies, leading one of the New Mothers Breastfeeding Support Groups, answering questions on the floor of the store and providing phone support. In addition to her role at The Pump Station, she has also worked for many years as lactation consultant at SMUCLA hospital on the post partum unit. For the past 8 years she has been the lactation consultant in the neonatal intensive care unit at SMUCLA hospital, promoting early breast feeding for those babies ready to start oral feedings. Her role there is to initiate pumping as soon as possible, to teach the mother how to latch her baby and to support her in her journey through this NICU experience. Prior to becoming a lactation consultant, Jessica worked as certified nurse practitioner in many women's health care settings that included UCLA Westwood, UC Berkeley's Student health Center, and Planned Parenthood. Her hospital based experience was as a labor and delivery room nurse at UCLA Westwood. Jessica and her husband Mike are now empty nesters to 3 college/graduate students who were happily breastfed.
Jesse Zilberstein, MPA, IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and certified Happiest Baby on the Block educator. She received her degree in Human Development from Cornell University and went on to gain her Masters in Public Administration from USC. Jesse works at both The Pump Station locations. She provides individual consultations to new parents and also teaches many of our prenatal Breastfeeding and Baby Care classes. As a mother of three young children, Jesse brings not only her passion for breastfeeding but also her empathy for the challenges of early parenthood to all of her interactions with new mothers and fathers. Prior to becoming a lactation consultant, Jesse worked for years with young families as an educator and community organizer. She is the mother to three boys, all of whom she has breastfed with joy.
Josee Pound Josee Pound, IBCLC
Josée's passion for working with families and breastfeeding dyads was discovered while living abroad in Ghana and Haiti, where she worked in several schools and clinics. After completing a Bachelors degree in International Development at the University of Guelph, she graduated from the Lactation Medicine Program at the Jack Newman International Breastfeeding Centre in Toronto Canada in 2015. This involved completing over 90 hours of Lactation Specific Education and over 600 hours of hands on breastfeeding support. In 2016, she became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant, this professional designation requires successfully passing the IBLCE certification exam, completing the required education in health sciences as well as significant in clinic experience. Currently, she has partnered with The Pump Station & Nurtury and has a private practice in Pasadena, CA. Call us to schedule an in-home Breastfeeding Consultation with Josee!

Debora Brechesi Milioni, RN (retired), MSN, MBA, LE received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing as well as her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Federal University of Sao Carlos, Brazil. She also received her MBA from Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Brazil. She developed her passion for mother/baby care and breastfeeding while working as a Registered Nurse and Continuing Education Coordinator at a large Maternity Center in Campinas, Brazil. In the US, she has worked in child care, has received her 90 hour of Lactation Specific Education from Marie Biancuzzo and also her training as a Postpartum Doula from DONA International. She is currently in the process of becoming a Lactation Consultant through IBLCE. In 2018, she became a mother. Her son Gus has been breastfed since day 1 and Debora now appreciates the effort, the struggles and the joy of breastfeeding.
