We're confident your baby will sleep better after our newborn sleep class.

By Becci Binnquist, Certified Sleep Consultant and Postpartum Doula

As an expecting or new parent, it is often so easy and automatic to turn to the internet to get a quick answer to your questions.  “Is it normal for my newborn to wake up so often in the middle of the night?” “How long should my baby be sleeping during the day?” “Should I let my newborn cry?”  “Should I wake my baby up at night to feed him?”  What I love and loathe about the internet is that you CAN get a quick answer, but you can also get conflicting and confusing results in the same search.  When you take my class I will help take the guesswork out of your google searches.   Here are 5 reasons why you will learn from my Newborn Sleep Class and your baby will sleep better.

  1. You will learn tried and true practical advice.

I’ve spent 14 years in homes working with newborns and it has been my greatest joy.  I have learned so many things throughout my years as a postpartum doula and sleep consultant all while dealing with a variety of families.  Along the way, I have made mistakes and I’ve learned a lot.  My desire is that you will learn from my mistakes and my successes. I have taken the guesswork and hours of searching for the best blogs, books and sleep products off your plate – I’ve done the research for you.  I know that I am able to deliver practical advice and real-life expectations that you can use as soon as you bring your baby home.  I have dealt with various issues, circumstances, and experiences. I want to impart my knowledge and experience to you.  Anyone can follow the advice of someone on the internet, I want to build a relationship of trust with you.

  1. I will help you set realistic newborn sleep expectations.

Setting realistic expectations for your newborn can put you at ease and help take a great deal of pressure off of you.  Deciphering what is typical behavior at this age can oftentimes be the missing factor in your confidence as a new parent. Did you know that there is a correlation between feeding and sleep?  Did you know that holding your newborn for naps is ok?  In this class, I will answer all of the questions that have been on your mind.  I will help you get your newborn off to a great start, and even more importantly, I will help them develop great sleep habits so that they will be better sleepers as they grow.  In any relationship, setting realistic expectations is crucial for success.  The same is true for your newborn.

  1. You will walk away from my class with more confidence as a Parent.

Having evidence-based knowledge and information at your fingertips is a crucial part of feeling confident with newborns. When you finish this class you will be fueled with the knowledge, tips and tricks for dealing with newborn sleep holistically. The more you know about typical sleep cycles, awake windows, the amount of sleep your baby should be getting, and how often your baby should be eating, the more confident you will be as a parent. The newborn stage presents so many different circumstances but focusing on a few simple methods will help your baby sleep better and you will feel confident in your new role as parent.

  1. You will build a community that you can relate to, and the ywill relate to you.

Getting connected with others in the same stage of life is critical to knowing that you aren’t alone in your parenting journey. In this class we will encourage expecting and new parents to ask questions and discuss concerns. You will see that you are part of a community and you’re all going through the same thing.  You are not on an island, but rather, you are amongst a group of other people dealing with the same things as you are.  I can assure you that you are not alone in this journey.

  1. You will have me, a trusted, experienced and reliable resource at your fingertips.

I truly want to connect with you and be a resource for you as your baby grows and develops.  As a Sleep Consultant and Postpartum Doula I’ve seen a variety of problems and circumstances that can make things go sideways and I want to be your “baby sleep safety net”.  My goal is that your baby will develop long lasting positive sleep habits that will help the whole family thrive.  You might have issues along the way, but I hope that you will develop confidence and trust in me so that I can be another resource to you should you need it in the future.
