Musical Story Time Class Guidelines

Covid & Wellness Protocols:

  • Parents must email Community@PumpStation.com proof of full covid-19 vaccination, including booster if eligible, 2 weeks prior to class start date.
  • Attendance will be capped at lower numbers to maintain social distancing in our classrooms.
  • For the time being we choose to err on the side of caution, so, we are requiring that parents and instructors must wear surgical or N95/KN95 masks that cover their mouths and noses while in attendance. Cloth masks are not allowed unless they are worn over a surgical mask. The CDC is saying that if you are not vaccinated, you should be wearing a mask. Since the babies cannot wear a mask, we believe we can better protect them by wearing our masks inside.
  • Classrooms and floor coverings will be cleaned after each class.
  • Each classroom will have hand sanitizers available and an air purifier, windows and door will be open where possible.
  • Toys & Musical Instruments will be provided during class. As we’ve always done, toys will be sanitized after each class.
  • Please don’t come to class if you or your baby has a fever, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, or a cold. You can always call your doctor’s office if you’re unsure, so you don’t miss class unnecessarily.  Your doctor or a nurse can often help you determine whether you or your baby is ill.  
  • Please contact Norma at Community@PumpStation.com if you think that you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 at any time, or f you have traveled (foreign or domestic) to an area with high positivity rates. After an appropriate quarantine period and testing negative, you will be welcome to return to in-person classes. 
  • In the event of any other government initiated lock-down or "safer at home" order all classes will be moved to Zoom.
  • Guidelines are subject to change based on updated Department of Health Guidelines.

What is your cancelation policy? Class space is limited. Requests for class cancelations must be made at least two weeks prior to the start date of group. After this time frame we cannot honor refund or credit requests.  

Do you offer trial classes or make-up classes? Due to the limited space trial and make-up classes are not possible.

Can a caregiver attend class in my place? Caregivers or partners can attend class in your place they will have to show proof of vaccination at least 3 days prior to class. Or if you are confident this will happen, you can submit their vaccination cards when you submit your own card.

What is your policy regarding visitors? In order to maintain the safest environment possible, at this time, we are not permitting any visitors in class.

What do I need to bring to class?  
Bring whatever you and your baby needs to be comfortable during class.  We sit on the floor in back jack chairs around a big sheet. 

Do you refund for missed classes? Since we are paying your class leader, holding the time slot in the classroom each week and managing the classes, you are essentially paying for your spot in the class.  We are not able to give refunds for missed classes.  Unfortunately, offering these classes would be prohibitive for us without this policy.  Note that we do make an exception to our refund policy for religious holidays.  Please contact the Pump Station class manager if this is the case for you.

Food: You are welcome to feed your baby breast milk, formula or water during class. Due to safety concerns as well as our desire to limit the potential of exposing babies to life threatening food allergies, we kindly request that you do not bring food or beverages other than the ones listed above into the classroom.

Diaper Changing: During the initial sessions before the babies are crawling, you are welcome to change your baby in class.  We do ask that you bring a changing pad to place over the class sheet. Once we have crawlers in the class, we kindly ask you to take your baby to one of our designated changing stations.  Little crawlers have been known to view a dirty diaper as an interesting “toy” to grab and explore!

Class size: The maximum number of members in each in-person Musical Story Time group is 10 adults with one infant/toddler.  The maximum number of members in each parents & me group is 6 couples.  

Photography/Recording: While it is fine to take pictures of your baby in class, we do ask that you check in with the other parents before photographing their child.  For privacy purposes, we do not permit the recording of class discussions.

What if my baby is napping and I’m late for class? You’re welcome to arrive to class at any time. Do what feels right for you and your baby.

Second-time mommy & me classes: Please note that our second-time mommy & me class is designed for you and your new baby.  The class is not equipped for older siblings to attend as well.
