"Weaning," this is meant in the Brit sense, not the American. In the UK, "weaning" means "adding complementary foods," whereas in the States it means "giving up breastfeeding." This 90-minute class will show you how to introduce first foods to supplement breastfeeding or formula feeding, focusing on how and why to use a baby-led approach. We'll discuss many aspects of Baby Led Weaning, including signs your baby is ready to start, incorporating your baby into the family meal, the best starter foods, how to prepare them, as well as when and how to advance. I'll discuss the important question of, "is this safe for my baby?" and touch on how to encourage and guide your baby towards the development of strong oral motor patterns for safe, efficient, and healthy eating.
Class Length: 90min.
Age range: Newborn-16months
