Marla Fisher is a postpartum doula (DONA certified), Lactation Educator (UCSD) and Newborn Care Specialist (Gentle Blessings) I wholeheartedly believe in continuing education, and have also added Ayurveda Postpartum Doula training to enrich my practice.
It is my goal to support women and families during the unique and special time that is postpartum. Helping you have a smooth transition into life with your newborn, giving you the knowledge you need to be confident parents, and easing your recovery from birth are all part of what I can offer you.
My loving, caring and calm personality quickly puts parents at ease and the babies of course. I help with all aspects of newborn care, breast-feeding and milk storage, baby and mother’s diet, implementing suitable sleeping and feeding schedules and discussing other issues that are unique to each family. I quickly help overwhelmed parents to confident, calm and comfortable. I will help parents develop a routine that works for their baby and their life style.

-Funniest memory/moment with a family or baby: I arrived at a clients house with twins and the parents were so tired that when I got there both babies were asleep with no diapers on.
-Favorite place to travel/visit: Everywhere and anywhere! I have a bad case of wanderlust!

-Favorite parenting tip they share with new parents: You can not spoil a baby by holdng them to much!. Contrary to popular myth, it's impossible for parents to hold or respond to a baby too much, per child development experts. Infants need constant attention to give them the foundation to grow emotionally, physically and intellectually. ... "It's a matter of meeting the child's needs."
