Working Without Weaning

CLASS DESCRIPTION: The biggest challenge facing mothers returning to the work place is trying to maintain the milk supply. This Class will offer tips to maximizing your pumping, including how to select the proper pump and pump flange, threats to the milk supply, and working with the child care provides. Other topics will include nursing strikes, bottles strikes, and working with your employer.
INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY:
Wendy Haldeman, MN, RN, IBCLC is a co-founder of the Pump Station and Nurtury. She received both her undergraduate and master's degree in nursing at UCLA. Wendy is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a certified Happiest Baby on the Block instructor. She lectures frequently on human lactation at medical and nursing schools and has been identified by publications, such as Fit Pregnancy, as an "expert" in her field. At The Pump Station, Wendy teaches a number of classes including prenatal breastfeeding, newborn infant care, working without weaning and a class for new grandparents. She and her husband Tim are proud of their two grown daughters, adore their granddaughter and eagerly await the birth of a second grandchild in May. When not working, Wendy loves spending time with her family and friends, is an avid reader, and enjoys hiking.
