"Sizzling" Hot Topics at The Pump Station & Nurtury™
Water Safety Education Class
This class is designed to educate parents in hopes of reducing anxiety around pool related experiences and to address any and all parent concerns regarding water safety, swim instruction, traumatic experiences, regression, floaties, vacations, pool parties, pool gates and covers, intensive swim programs, and how to know if your child is truly water safe. Lisa believes that drowning is a preventable tragedy and hopes that through education, parents will have the tools needed to keep their children safe.
Lisa Cook is the Founder and CEO of KidSwim. Now in its tenth year, KidSwim has instructors throughout Los Angeles, The San Fernando Valley, Glendale/Pasadena, The Southbay and Orange County. Lisa has been involved in aquatics, professionally, since the age of 18. Lisa served as aquatics director at both the Westside and Santa Monica YMCAs, twice ran the aquatics venue at the Special Olympics Summer Games, coached Masters and Youth swim teams at the YMCA, conducted stroke clinics, mini-triathlons, organized and implemented many community service swim weeks for inner city children. Lisa began speaking about water safety education eight years ago and has spoken at schools, parenting classes, day camps and mom clubs. In addition to owning and operating KidSwim, Lisa has her secondary teaching credential, has attended NYU's school of social work and is a published author. Most importantly she is the mother of two boys.
