Real Baby Food
Infant feeding anxiety is at an all-time high for new parents. The familiar advice to start with "rice cereal" has been replaced by many pediatricians with "anything goes!" In addition, what passes for food in the infant commercial market undermines parental confidence in what to feed our babies. "Real Food Baby" uses the emerging science of palate training to encourage early acceptance of a wide variety of foods, and lower the risk of creating a "picky eater." Physiological timing for introducing solids, using active infant feeding to minimize choking, rotating "tiny tastes" to safely introduce greens, grains, eggs, and nut butters, plus menus for meals and snacks are included.

Cynthia Epps, MS, IBCLC, RLC, is an Infant Feeding Specialist in private practice. She holds a Master's degree in Nutritional Biochemistry, and is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She consults for transitioning to solids, and "food wars." She combines training and experience with evidence-based science to demystify the infant feeding process.
